The Merit Systems Protection Board has updated the form it traditionally has required of federal employees bring appeals before the board, breaking the form up into a package of forms specific to the type appeal at issue. The Board’s notice in the September 4 Federal Register noted that the form had not undergone a major revision since 1989. The new form package also will incorporate new questions to solicit information required for certain types of appeals. About 69 percent of appeals to MSPB involve adverse personnel actions, another 26 percent involve retirement decisions or actions and the rest mainly involve whistleblower protections and veterans employment rights appeals.
