Of the highest-cost travel destinations, most are in major cities, including frequent travel destinations such as New York, Boston and Washington, D.C. The highest rate of $259 a day, broken down as $208 for lodging and $51 for M&IE, is in Manhattan, although several nearby locations are close to that level, including Brooklyn, $245, Nassau, $237, the Bronx/Queens, $215, and White Plains, N.Y., $212. The rate in the nation’s capital is $201, while in Boston and Cambridge, Mass., the rate is $243 in-season May 1-November 30 and $210 off-season. Many of the other highest rates also are seasonal, including those applying in Ocean City, N.J., $258 June 15-September 15, Vail, Colo., $247 December 1-May 31, Key West, Fla, $227 January 1-April 30, and Park City, Utah, $216 December 15-March 15.
