Following launch of the TSP’s new computer system June 16, numerous investors tried to check out their account information and use the system’s new features such as daily transfers of funds-and many of them were unable to do so. In some cases, participants said they were unable to get into the account access section of the TSP Web site at all, while in others they were able to enter but the system would not accept transactions. They also reported getting unclear or conflicting information when they called the TSP’s customer service number. Those experiences caused many to question whether the new system actually is working. TSP officials have said the system is working properly and that hardware and software problems related not to the system itself but to the connection of outside users to the system were to blame for the rocky startup of the long-delayed new system.
