Fedweek

Although the large majority of FEHB enrollees make no changes during health insurance open seasons—the current one runs through December 11–officials and outside health experts advise that enrollees at a minimum make sure that their plan is continuing, that there are no new plans in a coverage area in which they might be interested, and checking that the benefit offering is what the individual is assuming. Some smaller plans are dropping out of FEHB for 2007 and their enrollees will have to choose new coverage. These are Universal Care in California, Vista Health Plan in Florida, Coventry Health Care of Georgia, Avera Health Plan in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, Humana Coverage First in Indiana and Kentucky, Vytra Health Plan in New York, and Hometown Health Plan and Community Health Plan in Ohio.
