DoD Bill Signed

President Bush has signed into law legislation to allow the Defense Department to overhaul many of the personnel rules applying to its employees, a project that is expected to prominently feature pay banding with pay-for-performance to replace use of the general schedule there. The measure also gives DoD extensive new authorities in hiring, promotions, discipline and a host of other policies, as well as carrying several government-wide provisions (see items below).
