The EEOC has released its annual report on discrimination and other complaints under its jurisdiction filed by federal employees, showing that employees and applicants in 2006 filed 16,723 complaints alleging employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, religion, age, disability and reprisal, down about seven percent from 2005. The average time for an agency to conduct an investigation was 186 days, still above the 180-day goal, but down from an average of 237 days in 2005.
