The Office of Personnel Management has released a report showing that the number of Hispanics in the federal workforce has increased by 2 percent since fiscal 2004 and that the numbers in high-level positions also increased slightly. The report, which follows another recent annual report showing that Hispanics continue to be the only ethnic minority group under-represented in the federal workforce compared with their representation in the overall American workforce, also reviews initiatives such as outreach programs that the government is undertaking in the areas of recruitment and career development targeted at Hispanics.
