OPM officials noted that the upcoming open season for enrolling or changing coverage, running November 12-December 10, affects not just FEHB but also the Federal Dental and Vision Insurance Program and the FSAFEDS flexible spending account program. The FEDVIP carriers will remain the same for 2008, they said, with average premiums for vision plans increasing by less than 1 percent and average premiums for dental plans increasing by about 6 percent, due largely to a change in reimbursement policy affecting one of the dental carriers, MetLife. While FEHB and FEDVIP enrollments continue unchanged from year to year if enrollees make no change, officials stressed that a new enrollment must be made each open season for FSAs in the following year.
