Even though 2001 was the second straight bad year for stock market returns, TSP investors overall continued to put most of their newly invested money during the year in the three stock-oriented funds, especially in the C fund. On a monthly basis, new investments in the C fund ranged from $449 million to $626 million, while investments in the G fund ranged from $187 million to $297 million and those in the F fund ranged from $37 million to $71 million. The S and I funds, which began only last May, had investments ranging from $2.8 million to $15 million and $1.5 million to $7.2 million, respectively.
