The Office of Personnel Management is conducting a special open season running for the month of February for enrollees of the Postmasters Benefits Plan, which OPM has dropped from the Federal Employees Health Benefits program for financial reasons, to elect new coverage for 2006. Enrollees in the plan were transferred to the Blue Cross/Blue Shield standard option, in most cases effective January 24, without a break in coverage. Affected individuals—about 8,000 enrollees—will be able to choose from all available FEHB plans as they would during a regular open season.
