Other Considerations for FLTCIP Applicants

The “retained age” feature of the FLTCIP open season-that is, applicants are deemed to be the age they had attained at the start of the open season last July 1 even if they have had birthdays since-will continue to apply to applications received by the end of January. The date when coverage is approved or when the applicant elects billing options is irrelevant for purposes of processing an application as an open season application. Open season application forms are no longer available, however, nor is the option to make an open season application online. The extended opportunity applies only to those who requested an application form by December 31.
