Recruitment incentive payments were concentrated in
engineering, architecture, health care and
intelligence occupations, while retention payments
were concentrated in health care, transportation,
information technology, police and security, and
biological sciences. Relocation incentive payments
were concentrated in engineering, computer science,
information technology, investigative and border
patrol positions. Recruitment incentive payments
most commonly were used at entry level grades while
relocation and retention payments most commonly were
used at middle grades, OPM said.
