Personnel Services Transition Will Take Time

One of the many issues involved in creation of DHS that likely will take some time is the need to combine the disparate payroll and personnel systems of the current agencies that will be affected. For the interim-which could last well into 2003 or possibly beyond-affected employees would continue to use their current agencies’ systems for services such as benefits changes and pay inquiries.
