The report, issued by Congress’s Office of Compliance, also found that 72 percent of Capitol Hill employees contacted during March and April stated that they were still experiencing similar symptoms. However, the report said additional study is needed to definitively state that the irradiated mail was causing the symptoms and to determine whether there are likely to be any long-term adverse effects on employee health. It recommended workplace exposure assessments and medical evaluations of employees who display continued symptoms.
