Although the S and I funds were eagerly anticipated by some TSP investors during the period between when they were authorized several years ago and when they actually became available last year, relatively little money has flowed into the funds, either through new investments or through transfers in from the original C, G and F funds. As of the end of April, the S fund held $1.4 billion and the I fund $434 million, compared with $48.8 billion for the C fund, $42.6 billion for the G fund and $8.7 billion for the F fund.
