Only single digit percentages of respondents said they considered the four top benefits–health insurance, retirement, TSP and retiree health benefits—not competitive with the private sector’s. The TSP was deemed very or somewhat competitive by 70 percent, FEHB by 62 percent, retirement by 50 percent and retiree health benefits by 45 percent. However, 41 percent of respondents said they did not know if retiree health benefits are competitive, with 28 percent saying the same regarding annuities, 15 percent regarding the TSP and 14 percent regarding FEHB. Two-thirds said they did not know if child care subsidies are competitive, with 62 percent saying the same regarding long-term care and 47 percent regarding flexible spending accounts.
