Among the bills recently introduced in Congress are: HR-1974 by Rep. Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., and S-1166 by Sen. John Warner, R-Va., which would give civilian federal employees serving in combat zones the same tax breaks applying to military personnel; S-1000, by Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, which would require policies to be established under which employees (with some exceptions) would be eligible to participate in telework and agencies would be required to allow it except when telework would hamper performance or agency operations; S-1254, by Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., to apply the government pension offset only to combined annuities above $1,200 a month; and HR-2007, by Rep. Michael Turner, R-Ohio, which would keep DoD laboratories that are under a personnel rules demonstration out of the national security personnel system–those labs currently are outside NSPS and would be brought in only if DoD decides to do so, under current policy.
