For the 2019 plan year a lower than usual number of FEHB plans are dropping out.

They are : Healthnet of Arizona, Inc. (Cochise, Gila, Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, and Santa Cruz counties), UnitedHealthcare of California (Central and Southern California), UnitedHealthcare Plan of the River Valley, Inc. (Eastern and Central Iowa and West Central Illinois) and Physicians Plus Insurance Corporation (South Central Wisconsin).

Enrollees in those plans should select a new plan during the open season November 12-December 10, OPM said. If they fail to do so, they will be enrolled by default in a new nationwide offering from Blue Cross and Blue Shield called FEP Blue Focus.

Under OPM rules, those automatic enrollments are to be made in the lowest-cost national plan option, which that option will be for 2019, it said.
