Linda Springer, director of OPM since June 2005, will leave that position in August to take a job with the government consulting services arm of the Ernst & Young accounting firm. Springer, who had a background in financial management at OMB and the financial services industry before joining OPM, will be replaced at least on an acting basis by deputy director Harold Weizmann. It is unclear whether the White House will nominate a replacement for the remainder of the Bush administration.
