Employees of intelligence agencies are more satisfied with their jobs and have a more positive view of their senior leaders than federal employees in general, according to recently released results of a survey in the intelligence community. The results were little changed from a similar prior survey a year before. Intelligence community agencies received a 63 percent positive response on a "leadership index" compilation of responses to questions having to do with trust and abilities of leaders compared with 58 percent government-wide, and there was a similar difference in a "performance culture index" of questions addressing linkage between employee performance and agency decisions on pay, promotions and other rewards. Intelligence agencies also rated about five points higher on a "talent index" measuring recruitment of talented employees and putting talents to good use.
