The General Services Administration has issued proposed revisions to its “federal travel regulation”-the body of rules covering travel policy in most agencies outside the Defense Department-requiring agencies to begin carrying out the upcoming eTravel Service no later than December 31, 2004. GSA expects to issue in the coming months a contract for the eTravel Service, which will provide as soon as the end of this calendar year a Web-based travel management service, including booking arrangements and processing of travel claims. Employees generally will have to use the eTravel Service when it becomes available in their agencies.
