The Thrift Savings Plan has extended and broadened special provisions it had applied for enrollees in the Hurricane Katrina disaster zone through December 31, 2005 that waived the normal restriction against taking out a financial hardship in-service withdrawal within six months of having taken a previous one and the normal restriction against contributing to the TSP within six months of taking a hardship withdrawal. The new policy applies the exceptions to the Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma disaster zones through March 31. The notice was published in the January 9 Federal Register.
