TSP Returns Not So Hot in July

Four of the five TSP funds posted losses in July, with the international stock I fund down 3.72 percent, the large company common stock C fund down 0.8 percent, the small company stock S fund down 0.79 percent and the bond F fund down 0.01 percent. Over the last 12 months, the I fund has lost 11.64 percent, the S fund has lost 7.61 percent and the C fund has lost 10.99 percent. The F fund is up 6.42 percent over that time. The government securities G fund gained 0.4 percent in July for a 12-month gain of 4.15 percent. The July and 12-month returns for the lifecycle funds are: income, 0, 1.52; 2010, -0.23, -0.43; 2020, -0.82, -4.36; 2030, -1.07, -5.95; 2040, -1.31, -7.41.
