The Thrift Savings Plan has put out a warning to investors about a scam email that purports to be from the TSP asking for confirmation that the participant has added an e-mail address to his or her TSP account. The email contains a link to a bogus imitation of the TSP account access screen, where it asks for personal information such as Social Security numbers and credit card and banking information. The bogus site apparently is no longer operating, but anyone who provided such information is advised to contact the credit card or bank and may call the TSP at (877) 968-3778 to have account access blocked.
