Can a rehired annuitant gain FEHB eligibility?

I left federal service in a RIF a couple years ago. I had more than 5 years of FERS-covered service but was less than 62 years old. If I take my annuity at 62, I know I will not be eligible for FEHB. But if I later return to a federal job, will I be eligible for FEHB in a second shot at retirement? (& what happens to the annuity then?)

If you return to federal service in a FERS covered position, your previous FEHB time will be will be added to your current service and if you meet the age and service requirement to retire and had FEHB for your last five years of work (meaning we remove all periods of non-federal civilian service) you will be eligible to take FEHB at your retirement.
