Can a retiree stop annuity payments if they go back to work with the federal government?

I was granted half of my spouses FERS retirement annuity in court ordered divorce degree, I received 3 payments and then the payments stopped. Are there any reasons an annuity payment would stop? I understand the federal pay is reduced by the annuity amount, but shouldn’t the annuity payments continue, and I continue to receive my payment?

These payments only end when the annuitant dies, or the COAP stated the benefit ends with the remarriage of the former spouse and the annuitant sends proof to OPM of the remarriage (rare). If the annuitant is still alive, I can't think of any reason other than an Order to Vacate the COAP was received, or a mistake by OPM. You should call Court Ordered Benefits at 202-606-0222 and make an inquiry.
