I am retiring from federal service, and have already bought back my active duty time (5 years) from before I joined the federal workforce as a civilian. But while a federal civilian and a military reservist, I was mobilized/deployed twice on active duty (put on LWOP: KG or KA). Does this time count towards my retirement? Do I need to buy it back like I did my initial active duty time? Blocked by moderator

How is military deployment time (LWOP status) counted for FERS retirement.
