Minimum Required Distribution at age 70 1/2

I have made two withdrawals from my TSP. One was a hardship withdrawal at age 64 and the other an in-service withdrawal after reaching age 65. I am currently 67 and plan on working until age 70. Do the withdrawals I have made count toward my Minimum Required Distribution when I reach 70 and retire?

No. Required minimum distributions must be taken in the year in which they are required. Your first distribution would be for the year in which you reached the age of 70 1/2, though it can be delayed until April 1 of the following year. All subsequent distributions must be taken by December 31 of the year in which they are due.
If you end up working past the age of 70 1/2, the TSP has a “still working exception” which allows you to avoid taking RMDs as long as you are still working at your federal job. In that case your first RMD would have to be taken in the year you retire (though you may delay this first distribution until April 1 of the following year).
