How does postponed retirement affect my annuity, TSP and benefits?

I am considering leaving federal service with a postponed retirement. I am 48 years old with 30 years in. How does this affect my annuity, TSP, and all future insurance benefits? Will I be able to continue my FEHB until full retirement age?

Unfortunately, leaving at age 48 with 30 years of service only entitles you to a deferred annuity at your minimum retirement age, not a postponed. The difference is the benefits you will not be eligible to receive under deferred include no health insurance, no life insurance and no credit for unused sick leave. In order to be eligible for a postponed annuity, you must have already reached your minimum retirement age.
