What are the retirement options if 2 years short of MRA but unable to work?

My MRA is 56 years and 6 months. I am 54 with 27 years of service but have become unable to work due to COPD. I have filed for disability retirement but was wondering if I have any other options. Will disability convert to regular retirement when I hit MRA?

Disability is your only option unless your agency is offering early outs. Disability retirement converts to a regular retirement at age 62, not the MRA.
