Retirement & Financial Planning Report

If you’re interested in a “timeshare” vacation (the use of a particular place for a week or two each year), buy a resale unit. Among resellers, it’s always a buyer’s market. On the Internet, there are sites where you can find timeshare units selling at a fraction of the original purchase price. (Go to a search engine and enter “timeshare resellers.”)

Before buying any timeshare, read the fine print in the contract to see what additional expenses you may incur, such as association dues and condo fees. Remember that buying a timeshare will save you from having to pay lodging costs during vacations but other expenses (air fare, car rental) will still have to be incurred.
