The House Armed Services Committee is poised to accept the Trump Administration’s proposed 2.6-percent in basic pay for 2019, the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) reported April 25. The raise would take effect Jan. 1. AUSA also reported that the committee wants to cap regular Army strength at 487,500, Army National Guard strength at 343,500, and reserve strength at 199,500. The figure represents a 4,000 increase for the regular Army alone.
