Service members, retirees and affected federal civilian employees now can gain online access to their Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) myPay accounts. As of May 17, the agency adapted a system of creating and updating passwords that is patterned after the one used in the commercial-banking industry. Passwords can be shorter and remain active longer as a result. Other changes:
* Sailors and airmen can receive travel and miscellaneous payment.
* Soldiers and airmen can receive Personal Statements of Military Compensation.
* Army, Air Force and Marine Corps Junior ROTC instructors now can view their leave-and-earnings statements online.
* Employees of the Military Sealift Command now can use myPay.
