The Air Force has selected 14 lieutenant colonels for promotion to colonel, and 1,269 majors for promotion to lieutenant colonel, from the line of the Air Force and judge advocate communities. The central selection boards picked the selectees from pools of 124 lieutenant colonels and 6,639 majors.
