The Air Force unveiled its latest plan to bring strength into line with constraints mandated in the 2013 defense-spending bill. Under the force-structure changes, the Air National Guard stands to lose 65 aircraft and 1,400 military billets. The Air Force Reserve would lose 57 aircraft, while the active-duty Air Force would lose 122 aircraft and roughly 6,100 military billets. States will determine which Guard assets are trimmed; individual commands will make such determinations for active-duty and reserve assets.
