Continuing in the effort to reach congressionally mandated strength levels, the Air Force is implementing the second phase of its enlisted date of separation program. Airmen in the ranks of senior master sergeant and below could be forced to separate from the service under the rollback under these conditions if they:
* Have fewer than 14 years or more than 20 years of active federal service as of Sept. 20;
* Are eligible for retirement and have a date of separation of Aug. 13 or later, or are eligible for separation and have an eligible date of Sept 20 or later;
