Officers and civilians who wish to attend the Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., must submit their applications by May 25. The school’s selection board will consider applications July 23-25. Successful candidates could begin training as soon as July 2019.

Applicants this year will now be required to have 500 hours’ total time on single-pilot major weapons systems, instead of the 750 hours required in past years. The form itself has changed as well. Prospective applicants can find it on the school’s web site, at http://www.edwards.af.mil/Units/USAFTPS/. Graduates would earn a Master of Science degree in flight test engineering, through the Air University.
