Airmen at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., and the Pentagon are testing prototype physical training uniforms through the end of March. The PT uniforms being tested are made from 100-percent polyester to wick away moisture, and include an anti-odor lining. They also are lighter in weight, less noisy, are more reflective of light, and offer neither a hood nor vents. Capt. Nick Ferry, who manages the PT uniform program, predicts the service will either adopt it or something very similar once the test run is complete. Users "loved the fabric," he said, and "appreciated the longer length in shorts and the better-fitting liner."
