AF To End

With projected end strength on track for fiscal year 2008, the Air Force will cease force-shaping plans as of March 31 for the rest of the year. Officers who wish to accept Voluntary Separation Pay and leave the service have until that date to submit their application paperwork. Officers with prior service who are eligible to retire in eight years as well as some colonels and lieutenant colonels have until April 30 to submit applications for other voluntary retirement programs. The Blue-to-Green program, which allows Air Force members to transfer to the Army, remains open. Decisions relating to possible force-shaping in 2009 are still pending.
