Airmen, Guardians and Department of the Air Force civilian employees have a new web-based location where they can apply for and track their religious accommodation requests. The DAF Accommodation Portal now serves as a single site where such requests will be handled by officials as quickly as possible and monitored as they are processed.
“The service has seen an exponential increase in religious accommodation requests, and the portal offers a systemic automated solution to ensure our service members and civilians are assisted in the most expeditious manner going forward,” said Jan Baltrusaitis, the chief of the DAF Covid-19 Task Force. Baltrusaitis said plans for the portal came together in September 2022 and that mounting requests (the military announced its Covid vaccine mandate in August 2021) created a need for a “one stop shop” to track them.
Applicants and the respective processing organizations can expect to be notified of their requests’ status during each step throughout the process, to include appeals and final decisions.
