Armed Forces News

The Air Force is seeking hundreds of officer and enlisted

Airmen to fill critical U.S. Central Command joint task

force positions during one-year extended deployments.

Volunteers are needed in almost every major career field

with report dates throughout calendar year 2006. Interested

officers should contact their assignment teams. Enlisted

members should consult the Enlisted Quarterly Assignment

Listing Plus. Airmen may request a follow-on assignment or

elect to remain at their home station after the extended

deployment if manning permits. Selected Airmen may extend

their enlistments or re-enlist to obtain sufficient

retainability to complete the temporary duty assignment.

Airmen without the required retainability or an active duty

service commitment who decline the TDY must separate or retire

under current Air Force policy. For more details visit

or call DSN 665-4273. Should the Air Force not receive enough

volunteers, officials will identify the most eligible

non-volunteers.
