The Air Force Aid Society urges Air Force members who find themselves short on the necessary cash to meet short-term expenses to contact them instead of business who offer pay-day loans from private brokers, which often carry exorbitant interest rates. The society’s new Falcon Loans can provide as much as $500 interest-free, for use in paying rent, utilities, food, repairs, emergency travel, or other approved expenses. Applicants need not provide any budget information, backup documentation, or approval from first sergeants or commanding officers, but there are some requirements. For more information, and to download a loan application, visit the society’s Web site at http://www.afas.org/.
