Gen. James F. Amos became the 35th Commandant of the Marine Corps during an Oct. 22 ceremony at the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C. Amos succeeds Gen. James T. Conway, who is retiring. Amos becomes the first aviator to serve in the Marine Corps’ top military post.
