The active duty Marine Corps recruited 1,666 new members in April, exceeding the service’s goal of 1,018. The active Navy (2,719 accessions) and Air Force (2,162 accessions), and the Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force reserves (611, 422, and 786 accessions, respectively) all hit their monthly recruiting and accessions goals. The active Army signed 3,995 new soldiers, ahead of its goal of 3,900, while the Army Guard announced 4,474 accessions, ahead of its goal of 4,029 and the Army Reserve signed 3,425 new soldiers, ahead of its goal of 3,333. The Air Guard announced 870 new accessions, 10 more than its monthly goal.
