The Army wants to formulate parameters for standards and discipline that will be clear to all soldiers. “What we’re after here is not blind obedience. We want intelligent obedience,” said Sgt. Maj. David Stewart, while speaking to an audience of professional peers at the Association of the U.S. Army Annual Meeting and Exposition in October. Stewart is the senior enlisted advisor for the Center for Army Profession Ethic (CAPE), based at West Point, N.Y. CAPE will hold eight Master Army Profession Ethic Training seminars, and 40 Army Profession seminars, across the country this year.
