Army warrant officers can expect greater opportunities and responsibilities, which in turn will require more education, a panel of senior warrant officers said during a seminar held at the Association of the U.S. Army Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 23. “We are going to link PME (professional military education) to promotion,” said one of the panelist, CWO5 David Wilson, who manages training issues in the Army strategy, plans and policy office. Wilson noted that 39 percent of all active duty warrants do not have PME levels required for promotion. Warrants also can expect an added emphasis on annual physical training tests. Waivers for the two-mile run also likely will end.
