The Senate is considering a measure that would grant reservists, National Guard members, and gray-area retirees access to space-available travel equal to that of active-duty members. The bill, S. 542, was introduced by Sen. Mark Begich, D-Alaska, and is now pending before the Senate Armed Services Committee. A comparable bill, H.R. 1003, is pending before the House. It was sponsored by Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska.
