Bill Would Protect Retiree COLAs

Military retirees would continue to receive full annual cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs), under a measure now pending before the House Armed Services and Oversight and Government Reform committees. The bill, H.R. 3801, would offset the proposed cut in military COLAs by suspending Saturday delivery of mail by the U.S. Postal Service. Rep. Darrel E. Issa, R-Calif., introduced the legislation Dec. 19.
