Sailors now can wear aviation flight deck boots with the new Navy Working Uniform while they are away from their work environment, under one of the changes approved by Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead. Other changes include allowing women to wear permanent cosmetic makeup as long as it is “conservative,” authorizing sailors assigned to U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) to wear optional staff identification badges, and redesignating the Naval Air Crewman Qualification insignia as the Naval Aircrew Warfare Specialist (NAC) insignia.
