The Crew of a Honolulu-based HC-130 Hercules transport flew more than 1,000 miles to airdrop blood, platelets, and transfusion equipment to a cruise ship Oct. 7. The vessel’s doctor requested the medical supplies at 4 a.m., in behalf of a 70-year-old passenger suffering from internal bleeding. The cruise ship, named Oosterdam, remained in contact with the Coast Guard until it reached port in Hawaii Oct. 22.
